Popup Maker Tool


You can use the Popup Maker Tool to generate the code for a popup window with the characteristics you specify. Enter your choices in the form below then click on SHOW to display your code in the textbox at the bottom of the form. You can click on RESET to clear the form and start over. Many of the fields are optional, but you must at least enter the URL of the file to be displayed in the popup window. If you don't specify a height and width for the popup window, the new window will be the default size (as opposed to a smaller window that "floats" in front).


URL:   Enter the URL of the Web page you want displayed in the popup window.

        URL to display:    



Name:   Enter a name for the popup window if you want to give it a name (so you can reference it in scripts). Otherwise you can leave this field blank.

Height:   How high do you want the popup window to be, in pixels?

        Height of popup window:    



Width:   How wide do you want the popup window to be, in pixels?

        Width of popup window:    



Menubar:   Do you want the browser's "menu bar" (containing the browser's menus such as File, Edit, View, etc.) to be displayed in the popup window?

        Include menu bar?    



Toolbar:   Do you want the browser's "toolbar" (with navigation buttons such as Back, Forward, and Reload) to be displayed in the popup window?

        Include toolbar?    



Locationbar:   Do you want the browser's "location bar" (with the URL of the file displayed and recently displayed files) to be displayed in the popup window?

        Include locationbar?    



Statusbar:   Do you want the browser's "status bar" (the area containing the security indicator and any status bar messages) to be displayed in the popup window?

        Include statusbar?    



Scrollbars:   Do you want scroll bars (which allow the user to scroll vertically and horizontally) to be displayed if needed to view the content?

        Include scrollbars?    



Resizable:   Do you want the popup window to be resizable by the user?

        Make window resizable?    



ScreenX and ScreenY:   The position of the popup window on the user's screen is expressed in terms of distance from the top and left edges of the current browser window. If you want to specify a position for your popup window, enter those coordinates below.   (NOTE: this feature might not work in older browsers.)

      ScreenX:       pixels from left edge of screen
      ScreenY:       pixels from top edge of screen



Dependent:   Specifies whether the popup window will close automatically when the main browser window is closed.   (NOTE: this feature might not work in older browsers.)
